When Napoleon and his fire-breathing dragons menace all of Europe, Mr. Darcy and his mage powers are England’s last hope.
Danger awaits in France, where Darcy must complete his mission for England while fighting to return to his beloved Elizabeth. But when he finally comes face to face with Napoleon, Darcy discovers the tyrant’s dark secret – one that threatens the survival of England and everyone Darcy loves. Now he is on the run, trapped behind enemy lines with no hope of escape.
Back at Pemberley, Elizabeth discovers Darcy’s grave danger through their entwined magic. Accompanied by her trusted dragon, she sets forth on her own perilous journey to bring him home. But finding him is only the beginning, and Darcy and Elizabeth must work together to face magical traps and a relentless manhunt. As their love and magic are put to the ultimate test, will they be able to overcome the obstacles and save England from certain doom?

My amazing beta readers have been very enthusiastic about this book, including what one describes as “the very satisfying ending!” But just to be clear, this is the second book of the trilogy, so there is a third part yet to come. I’m hoping to release The Guardians of Pemberley in April 2025, though I’ve listed it for September 2025 because Amazon will let you move a pre-order earlier (as I did for The Magic of Pemberley), but not later. I’ve already written over a third of Book 3, so I might manage it even earlier than April, but Darcy has been making some noise about going off on a side quest with his beloved Elizabeth, and I know better than to think I can talk that stubborn man out of anything!
Want to win a free e-book copy of The Magic of Pemberley? Just leave a comment here telling me something you like about magical P&P variations and I’ll pick a winner on October 2. I’ll throw in a copy of Spellbound at Pemberley, too. And thank you for joining me on this magical journey with Fitzwilliam Darcy, Mage!
So excited that book 2 is here!!! I can’t wait for the audiobook but I know that I will read it before that comes out so I can doubly enjoy it! I have enjoyed these stories as they are set in a world where it “could” actually happen.
I love magic/paranormal/fantasy genre across the board so mixing it into my all-time favorite book and cast of characters (P&P, of course) is sublime!
I have been enjoying all of the fantasy JAFFs that have been published lately. It amazes me all of the things that you can come up with. Magic and dragons and the like change the story, while it still remains the same. (I think that makes no sense, but I hope that you know what I mean.)
The first book I ever read that was a P&P variation was your book “What would Mr. Darcy do?” I’ve been hooked ever since and love all these variations. Adding a magical touch to the story makes it even better to expand the imagination! Can’t wait to read this next chapter!
What do I love about these 2 books….I do not even know where to start. A besotted Darcy, a smart and self sufficient Lizzy, dragons, no Lydia drama, I mention dragons? Her Granny (whom I adore), Lady Frederika, magic, spells, laughter and tears (OMG book 2 I needed many tissues)….the entire book is a journey…. one that if you even put it down to do something (like a snack because you are NOT going to sleep once yo start these books) you feel like you are a bit lost. This is a magical world that you become one with. This is magical world you only dreamed about as a child and through these books…… you are there. I cannot start to tell you how much I adore these books. Also, should you be able to “nudge” Harry Frost a bit on book 2 that would not hurt lol. Thank you for gifting us this story.
I enjoy the magical version because they can still be true to the charecters, but open a whole new world. It also gives the possibility of women being equal to men and possibilities on their own merits
